I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Surrey Sleep Research Centre, University of Surrey, and UK DRI Care Research & Technology Centre at Imperial College London and University of Surrey, Guildford. I am a biomedical engineer interested in all things "SLEEP" ! 

My current research primarily revolves around understanding the influence of comorbidities on sleep physiology and evaluation of consumer sleep technologies (CST) for monitoring sleep in healthy older adults and people living with dementia (PLWD). 

There is a plethora of potential physiological and behavioral signals ranging from simple bed occupancy to electroencephalography (EEG), that can be used to understand sleep patterns. This is particularly interesting to me because for each of the problem I encounter, I get to explore, put together, and use a variety of novel data analysis pipelines, each with a unique combination of signal analysis, feature generation and machine learning tools.

Through my work, I hope to create scalable solutions to real-world problems that currently hinder round-the-clock monitoring of sleep and circadian function.

Before venturing into the field of sleep physiology and dementia, I obtained my M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Department of Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), Chennai, India. While I was at IIT-M, I worked on developing low-cost EEG hardware, spatial filters and target detection methods for Steady State Visual Evoked Potential (SSVEP)-based Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI).
